Was Tookie Murdered?

i ministered in prisons
from 1975 until 1994
i have met and counseled
with a number of tookies

thirty six years in San Quentin
followed by execution
would easily qualify as
"cruel and unusual punishment"
something which our constitution
specifically addresses
as a guage in preseving
the common liberty
it is strictly illegal
to use these methods against the people
since they generate hatred fear shame and bondage
in the souls of those whom it has been inflicted upon
this tactic is traditionally used by colonizing governments

it is in use today
beware

tookie needed to be executed in 1979
to prevent the crips back then
from developing
executing him now
inspires revolution
in the hearts of a full generation
who consider him a folk hero

but this is by design
since our prison system
prefers to remain profitable

who wishes to live in a world
inspired by fear
what lasting good may come of it

greater good comes from love for the young
than any fear or warning generated by his execution

i believe that such figure head
as tookie
would have been of enormous value
gang related criminals are a culture and mentality
which is the underlying reason for recitivism

at this stage
after thirty six years in a dehumanizing hell
execution is quitebazaar in my opinion
was tookie murdered
only history will tell
